Where it Began

I have been blessed for several reasons:

1. I live in an adorable blue house on the corner that came with a jungle of plants for me to play with.

2. My hot husband, Todd, grew up with parents who are garden geniuses.

3. His garden genius parents were amazing enough to help us turn our jungle into a masterpiece. Or at least it's a work in progess :)

4. Todd. God. Health. Beauty.

WHY GARDENING?
When I was a kid, my brother, sister, and I tried to plant a vegetable garden. We put up a fence, bought all the plants, ran into grub worms (which almost kept me from ever gardening again), and cared about it for one week. Then it died. I think we got a few good squash out of it. It was not exactly the most rewarding gardening experience to begin with.

Anyway, I have never loved gardens that much, but the lady that lived at our house before us did. A lot. I felt suffocated by the amount of plants in the front, back, and side yards. Todd's garden genius parents came over this past weekend and helped us achieve what we though was impossible: a beautiful and organized garden. We woke up at 7 every morning and one day, Todd and I worked for 9-10 hrs. The weather this weekend was a huge blessing...I hardly sweat at all! Anyway, our backyard has received a complete transformation. We have yet to tackle the side and front yards (although when I got home from school today I found Todd in the side yard trimming stuff), but it will come soon enough. I know nothing about gardens, and maybe, if you are reading this, you don't either. So, with this blog I hope to learn, and educate, and continue to find God's beauty in gardens.

Also, you may be wondering: why the title? One thing I have already learned is this: God created us IN A GARDEN (eden), so it makes sense that I would find His beauty and love in His creation, and when I look at my garden, I see it. I hope that you, too will be able to find Him in your garden.
